Traveling in Greece requires careful preparation, the ability to understand the intricacies of hotels, the uniqueness and beauty of places that are really worth visiting. Our guide, the charming Alevtina, helped us to cope with this task and make our stay comfortable. Already at the stage of correspondence, we quickly found a common language with her — Alevtina immediately understood our wishes: the predominance of quality over quantity, because Greece needs to be felt, not just seen.
Welcome to Greece

My name is Alevtina and I live in Thessaloniki, the biggest town in Northern Greece. After graduating from University I started teaching Modern Greek, interpreting and translating books.
I am still doing it, but I am also a professional tour guide now. The reason for this change, or rather addition to my career is that I love meeting people from all over the world, having a great time with them while at the same time showing them around and telling them everything I know and love (or don’t love so much) about Greece.
My MA in the history of Byzantine art from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London and an MA in Christian Theology come in very useful when it comes to understanding the Byzantine heritage and the Christian sites in Greece. I mainly guide locally, in Thessaloniki and around, but occasionally I also take on excursions to other parts of Greece, including beautiful Greek islands. If you are interested, you can read the description of some of my tours below.
Thessaloniki is a fascinating town located by the sea. It is almost twenty four centuries old and the life has never stopped here. In the course of its long history Thessaloniki used to be a home town to the Greek, Roman, Ottoman, Jewish and other communities, which all left the traces of their presence there. Apart from its amazingly rich history Thessaloniki is also a great gastronomy destination with lots of different restaurants, tavernas and cafes. It is a perfect place to combine culture and history with coffee stops and a delicious Mediterranean meal at a local restaurant.
Alevtina, I want to thank you for a wonderful tour of Thessaloniki. At first, my wife and I doubted whether it was worth visiting Thessaloniki. Now there is delight and a pleasant aftertaste after this wonderful city and the whole tour! Easy communication with you and not overloaded with information left one of the most pleasant impressions of the whole vacation! Good luck in your work, grateful customers and see you soon!
